Year 5 & 6 children cycle 20 miles!

2 groups of children from Carnforth North Road School cycled 20 miles this week!  There were proud, amazed and excited at their achievement.  We followed the canal from Carnforth to Lancaster, the cycle path to Morecambe, and then returned to Carnforth via the promenade & canal.  What a brilliant local adventure, and a great learning & personal development opportunity for the children.  Well done all!

The big wide world

"The great majority of us first learn to ride as a child, the bicycle a type of 'transitional object', taking us away to really explore the bigger world for the first time out of the sight of our parents, our first real taste of independence and freedom. It's the symbolic moment when horizons broaden, possibilities open up; you are moving under your own power, controlling where you want to go."
